School Management Committee has been made mandatory for schools under RTE Act,2009. The basic idea behind the SMC is to increase the participation of community stakeholders in the functioning of the school. As per the act, the SMC works towards enhancing parents’ community participation in school functioning and provides for more effective management at the school level. It has tremendous potential to transform the existing system and motivate the teachers as well as parents. Our SMC has a total of 21 members including the Principal, staff members, parents, Social educationists,s and NGOs. The SMC actively participates in the making of the School Development Plan and further supervising and supporting the School Development Plan. It also helps in the supervision of finance management, academic progress, prize distribution functions, etc. The in-charge of SMC organizes meetings from time to time and regular training of SMC members is also conducted regularly.
